My mission is to help you feel your best. Everything we do in life is affected by how we feel, both physically and emotionally. I have personally benefited from receiving Reiki, which is what led me to my decision to become a practitioner and to bring it to others. I experience deep relaxation and a sense of well being after each session, and human contact has been scientifically proven to raise serotonin in the body, which is what makes us feel happy. Think of how you feel after a warm hug. That's a simple example of what touch can do for you. Now, increase the energy, and have it deliberately applied to the body, and that is Reiki! Improving Health and Wellness is my "WHY"
I'm just like you: someone who is on a journey to improve my wellbeing through holistic services, exercise and nutrition. I started my wellness quest a few years ago when I just wasn't feeling "right." I wasn't sick, but I knew that I could definitely feel better. I started by changing my diet - I cut out sugar and gluten, and after decades of dealing with inflammation, I started to feel better! But, my wrist and thumb joint were still giving me trouble, so I started taking T'ai Chi classes in Oshkosh. That's where I learned about how energy works in the body, and how we can actually do things to improve our energy flow. I was feeling so much better by moving my body through the T'ai Chi form, and I was excited to learn more.
I had experienced Reiki previously, but had forgotten about it, and I didn't really know how it worked. I had an opportunity to train in it, so I figured I would take the beginner course and see how I felt about it. After the first hour of that 8-hour course, I knew I was going to continue my education to become a Reiki Master Teacher. I loved how I felt when I helped others to fully relax their bodies and minds, creating a perfect environment for healing.
Because I am someone who loves to learn and grow, I was intrigued to learn more when my friend told me that she had gone in for "tuning." I got to work researching the modality, and bought my tuning forks to start training. One of my Reiki clients offered to be my first client. She had been having issues that stemmed from emotional trauma at different points during her life. After one session, she couldn't believe how much lighter and peaceful she felt. I continued my training, working on my friends and family to get the technique mastered. Every person I worked on said that they noticed a difference in their overall feelings of wellbeing after being tuned, so I added Vibrational Tuning to my practice in July 2020.
After training with my own practitioner for two years, I took MFR I training in 2022. Myofascial Release Therapy is a life-changing treatment that reduces pain and releases fascial restrictions within the body.
